Setting up the Substack Sync plugin
The Substack Sync plugin imports a Substack publication's public posts into a Framer CMS collection. There's no API key and no login. All you need is the publication's web address.
It works with any *.substack.com URL or a custom domain, and takes about a minute to set up.
Part 1: Connect your publication
Step 1: Open the plugin on a CMS collection
The plugin creates and manages its own Framer CMS collection. That's where your posts land.
- In your Framer project, run the Substack Sync plugin
- It sets up a managed CMS collection to hold your posts
- On the welcome screen, click Get Started
Step 2: Find your publication URL
This is the public address of your Substack.
- Open your Substack in a browser
- Copy the address from the URL bar, for example
yourpublication.substack.com
- A custom domain such as
news.yoursite.com works too
Step 3: Connect
Enter the URL and let the plugin verify it.
- Paste your address into the Publication URL field
- Click Connect Publication
- The plugin checks the address and confirms it can read your posts before saving, so you know right away if something is wrong
