Setting up the Substack Sync plugin

The Substack Sync plugin imports a Substack publication's public posts into a Framer CMS collection. There's no API key and no login. All you need is the publication's web address.

It works with any *.substack.com URL or a custom domain, and takes about a minute to set up.

Part 1: Connect your publication

Step 1: Open the plugin on a CMS collection

The plugin creates and manages its own Framer CMS collection. That's where your posts land.

  1. In your Framer project, run the Substack Sync plugin
  2. It sets up a managed CMS collection to hold your posts
  3. On the welcome screen, click Get Started

Step 2: Find your publication URL

This is the public address of your Substack.

  1. Open your Substack in a browser
  2. Copy the address from the URL bar, for example yourpublication.substack.com
  3. A custom domain such as news.yoursite.com works too

Step 3: Connect

Enter the URL and let the plugin verify it.

  1. Paste your address into the Publication URL field
  2. Click Connect Publication
  3. The plugin checks the address and confirms it can read your posts before saving, so you know right away if something is wrong

Part 2: Sync your posts
